TranSeal
Traditional is a high solids oil-modified polyurethane clear wood varnish
that is designed for use on all interior bare wood surfaces including kitchen
cabinetry, molding, paneling, log walls and front entrance doors that are not
directly exposed to the elements. It is NOT recommended for wood floors. It
cures to a durable transparent coating that's easy to clean and maintain. 2
coats are recommended for best performance and appearance.
Because
TranSeal is not water-based, it relates back to the older air-dried
Polyurethane varnishes, hence the name "Traditional." But unlike the older
solvent-based varnishes, the special high solids technology allows for lower
fumes and less air pollution. TranSeal has the appearance and durability
of old style varnishes, but without the higher level of fumes associated
with the older generation of polyurethanes. It's oil rich formula provides
a warm amber glow to the wood coated. TranSeal is specially formulated
for those who favor that look and feel of "tradition" that can't be duplicated
with water-based varnishes. It is available in hand-rubbed satin and a "wet"
super gloss finish.
It's
Economical!
2
coats of TranSeal Traditional's "high solids" formula are similar to
3 to 4 coats of most other varnishes. Consequently, it is more economical to
use because fewer coats and less labor is required to achieve a first rate result.

sq./ft/gal at 1 mil thick over a non-porous surface. Actual coverage will
vary depending on porosity, surface profile, dryness of the wood and application
technique. 2-coat coverage over most wood surfaces will average approximately
450-500 sq./ft/gal. per coat. The 1st coat will have less coverage; the
2nd coat will have increased coverage for a general average of about 450-500
sq./ft/gal. per coat. Volume Solids: approximately 55%. Weight Solids: approximately
