We are very interested in your exterior stain. We used your interior
floor and wall Polyseal and thought it was a great product. We are wondering
what if anything WeatherSeal does when it comes in contact with Shingles.
The product that came with our log home had a warning on it to keep it away
from our shingles because it would ruin them. Please help!
Thank you,

Dear Ron & Katy,
Thanks for contacting us. I am glad you are
pleased with PolySeal. It is a good product. WeatherSeal contains mineral
spirits and water as its solvent carrier. Mineral spirits is a petroleum
distillate that is a slow evaporating solvent and in the realm of a whole
family of solvents, it is considered mild. It is on the same level as Kerosene.
The mineral spirits contained in WeatherSeal is but a portion of the whole
formula. Incidental contact of WeatherSeal on an asphalt shingle would be
negligible. If you soaked an asphalt shingle in mineral spirits, it would
eventually degrade the shingle. But this is not the likely scenario. Get
in touch with your asphalt shingle supplier and get their feedback.
